Cross-Border Fund Marketing Update – Zeidler Global Knowledge Hub March 2025: New Jurisdictions, New Fees, and Evolving Practices

26th March 2025

Staying ahead of regulatory developments is crucial for fund managers navigating cross-border distribution. That’s why our team of investment fund lawyers and regulatory specialists have been working diligently to update the Global Knowledge Hub (GKH) with the latest insights — helping our clients stay ahead of the regulatory curve.

As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the Knowledge Hub practical, current, and comprehensive, we’ve introduced new content and made several key updates across multiple jurisdictions. These changes reflect regulatory amendments, newest market practice, and updated regulatory fees relevant to investment fund managers distributing UCITS and AIFs internationally.

Cyprus – Article 32 AIFMD

Our team of regulatory and cross-border distribution experts have expanded our Article 32 AIFMD coverage to include Cyprus. The new content outlines the requirements for marketing Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) to professional investors in Cyprus, including the relevant notification process. This addition strengthens our pan-European offering for AIF managers seeking to access the Cypriot market.

Austria – UCITS Passporting

We’ve updated our Austrian UCITS content to reflect new guidance from the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) in relation to the deregistration process.

Belgium – FSMA Fee Updates for 2025

The Belgian regulator, FSMA, has published its updated fee schedule for 2025:

  • UCITS notification fee: Increased to EUR 505
  • UCITS annual fee: Increased to EUR 3452
  • AIF notification fee (for retail distribution): Increased to EUR 505

These changes are now reflected in our Global Knowledge Hub to support financial planning and budgeting for fund passporting into Belgium.

Sweden – Article 32 AIFMD

We’ve updated our Swedish coverage under Article 32 AIFMD to reflect the Swedish Fund Association’s Guidelines on marketing materials. These guidelines clarify the expectations for communication to professional investors and form part of the evolving best practice landscape in Sweden.

Switzerland – UCITS Market Practice

Our Switzerland content for UCITS has been revised to reflect the latest market practice on Swiss Extract Prospectus filings. These practical insights help clarify how filings are handled in day-to-day operations and ensure fund managers are aligned with local distributor and regulatory expectations.
